Adjective て form — Linking two descriptions

Connect two adjectives using the て form to describe two qualities of the same subject.

• i-adjective て form: drop い → add くて
• na-adjective て form: add で

Grammar note: 近くて is the て form of 近い (chikai, close). 便利（べんり）means "convenient".

〜なると — "When it becomes…"

Used with the verb なる (to become) and と (when/if) to express an automatic or natural result.

• Structure: [i-adjective く form] + なると、[result]
• i-adjective rule: 暗い (kurai) → くらく + なる → くらくなる
• Example: くらくなると、電気がつきます。(Kuraku naru to, denki ga tsukimasu.) — "When it gets dark, the light will come on."

Note: 暗い（くらい）means "dark". When used with なる, it changes to くらくなる.

〜ので / 〜から — Giving reasons about neighbourhoods

• Example: スーパーがないので不便です。(Sūpā ga nai node fuben desu.) — "Because there is no supermarket, it is inconvenient."
• Example: きんじょにコンビニがあるから、便りだ。(Kinjō ni konbini ga aru kara, tayori da.) — "Because there is a convenience store in the neighbourhood, it is convenient."
• Example: きけんですから、ここであそばないでください。(Kiken desu kara, koko de asobanaide kudasai.) — "Because it is dangerous, please do not play here."

〜だったら — "If it is…" (conditional)

• Structure: [na-adjective stem] + だったら
• Example: あんぜんだったら、ここに住みたいです。(Anzen dattara, koko ni sumitai desu.) — "If it is safe, I want to live here."

〜所は〜ですから — "Because (place) is…"

• Example: くらい所はきけんですから、明るい道を歩きます。(Kurai tokoro wa kiken desu kara, akarui michi wo arukimasu.) — "Because dark places are dangerous, she walks on a well-lit road."
