These two phrases describe the same conversation from opposite perspectives:

山口さんは田中さんのそうだんに乗ります。	Yamaguchi-san wa Tanaka-san no sōdan ni norimasu.	Mr Yamaguchi will give Mr Tanaka some advice.
明日、田中さんにそうだんします。	Ashita, Tanaka-san ni sōdan shimasu.	I'll ask Mr Tanaka for advice tomorrow.
何でもそうだんしてください。	Nan demo sōdan shite kudasai.	Please ask me for anything.
きのうりょうこさんがそうだんに乗ってくれました。	Kinō Ryōko-san ga sōdan ni notte kuremashita.	Yesterday Ryoko gave me some advice.
元気がないですね。よかったらそうだんに乗りますよ。	Genki ga nai desu ne. Yokattara sōdan ni norimasu yo.	You seem down. I'm here to listen if you'd like to talk.
なおこさんがこまっているので、そうだんに乗ります。	Naoko-san ga komatte iru node, sōdan ni norimasu.	Because Naoko is in trouble, we'll advise her.

Favour note: When someone gives you advice, it is a favour — so use くれます (they do for me): そうだんに乗ってくれました。

To say what a problem or consultation is about, add のこと after the noun.

Structure: [Noun] + のこと + を + [verb]
Key Phrase: 仕事のことをそうだんします。(Shigoto no koto o sōdan shimasu.) — "I ask for advice about my job."

Key distinction: 彼女のこと = "about my girlfriend" / 彼女のところ = "to/at my girlfriend's place" / 彼女のため = "for the sake of my girlfriend"

Review: から is used to explain the reason for a situation or action.

Structure: [Reason clause] + から、[Result clause]
Key Phrase: 今週アルバイトを休んだから、お金のことをしんぱいしています。(Konshū arubaito o yasunda kara, okane no koto o shinpai shite imasu.) — "Because I was absent from my part-time job this week, I am worried about money."

A natural phrase for offering to help at any time.

Key Phrase: 何かあったら、いつでもそうだんしてください。(Nanika attara, itsudemo sōdan shite kudasai.) — "If you have any problems, please consult me."
